All,

SFH3 will be returning to Yosemite Marsh in John McLaren Park this Saturday, 10-10-2015.  Volunteers should show up between 9:30 and 10:00AM and the work will finish around noon.  We get to break in a new SF Rec and Park gardener, Randy Zebell, but Licia promises to return in December.  Mark that day on your calendar, 12-12-2015.  I haven't heard what the work will entail, but I'm sure at least some time will be devoted to eradicating Himalayan Blackberries.  As far as I can tell they are one of the few plants which not only grow but thrive in the drought.  As always dress in layers with long sleeves and pants.  Shoes with closed toes and good grip are a must.

If at all possible RSVP to me before Friday Noon.  This request is so that Rec and Park will have enough tools and gloves for everyone.  (If you have your own favorite gloves, bring them.  The blackberries can be vicious.) I also need to know how many of you will be there in order to not run out of BEER.  Reply to this e-mail or find my contact info on the mismanagement page of the sfh3 website.

This project all started in order to keep Hand Pump out of jail, but has evolved into much more.  I am sure that everyone who has made the effort to drag themselves out to the southern edge of SF  on a Saturday morning will attest to the rewards of hard work and giving back.  I'm still hoping to get a Trail Workday together.  It would be a sight to have 30 to 40 hashers working on the chain-gang.  ON-ON!!!!
